Who We Are
A Scout Troop is divided into small groups called Patrols, each led by a Patrol Leader and often supported by an Assistant Patrol Leader. This structure encourages teamwork, friendship, and shared responsibility.
Scouting is about being with friends, working as part of a team, and making the most of the adventures and opportunities it offers.
The Scout Section is for young people aged between 10½ and 14 years. Scouts are encouraged to take part in a wide range of activities, with an emphasis on participation rather than meeting set standards. For those who wish to be recognised for their achievements, there are Challenge Awards and a variety of activity badges to work towards.
What We Offer
Scouts take part in a balanced programme that helps them explore the world around them, discover their strengths, and develop confidence, creativity, and independence. The programme also encourages them to reflect on their values and attitudes as they grow.
Being outdoors is a key part of Scouting, with around half of the programme focused on traditional skills such as camping, survival, and cooking, alongside a wide range of adventurous activities — from abseiling to zorbing.
